The
ACT Sunday Social Cricket Association has been organising
social cricket in Canberra for over 30 years. The competition caters
for different skill levels and games are played in a social atmosphere.
The official rules of cricket apply with only minor modifications
for safety and to fit in with the social spirit.
Games are played on every second Sunday afternoon using a 40 overs
limited overs format. Games generally are not scheduled on long
weekends or during the Christmas close down period.
Many teams are organized by work colleagues or by social and community
groups and clubs. Football teams often play in the competition to
maintain contact during the off season.
The Association is non-profit and costs are very reasonable.
The competition starts after the long weekend in October.
All nominations need to be filled in together with full payment
and be sent to the PO Box address as shown on the form by no later
than the 30th of August.
Nomination forms can be obtained by clicking on the nomination
pull down menu at the top of this home page. If you are a current
team just fill in the nomination form. If you are a new team you
will need to fill in the nomination as well as the “Application
for membership of the ACT Sunday Social Cricket Association”
and fill in sections 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
